Biography:
I’ve always loved creative things and drawing. I have no formal training in the arts, instead learning by trial and error.
The chair is decorated with images that would invite others to pull up a chair. The child playing basketball from her wheelchair, two old friends fishing, a full dinner table, a quilting bee, gazing at the stars or a beach sunset, Sunday school, and sitting on the porch, are all things that would invite others to pull up a chair. My three favorites are the campfire scene (having been a Girl Scout for 60 years), library story time as influenced by my years as children’s director at the Leeds Jane Culbreth Library, and my memories of shucking corn or snapping peas with my mother. I hope Leeds residents and visitors enjoy using the chair!
